ThirdLaw is seeking synthetic organic chemists in the Philadelphia area

ThirdLaw (https://www.thirdlaw.tech) is an exciting new startup looking for synthetic organic chemists to fill positions in the spring of 2020 in the Philadelphia area. We are developing a radical new technology that will solve fundamental problems in medicinal chemistry and diagnostics. Work includes organic synthesis of complex, chiral amino acids, reductive alkylation reactions, automated solid-phase peptide-like synthesis and automated purification of peptide-like molecules, and characterization of organic molecules using chromatography, high-resolution HPLC-MS, and NMR. The work will also include DNA encoded library synthesis and development of Lateral Flow Assays. Candidates are expected to be creative and seek to improve the workflow as we carry it out. The job, as requiring technical expertise and people skills, will be both challenging and rewarding. Industrial experience or previous experience is a plus.

Job description

• Synthesize complex, chiral amino acids.
• Analyze complex amino acids using a variety of methods including high resolution HPLC-MS and NMR.
• Work on API manufacturing under GMP regulations.
• Collaborate with QC/QA for documentations and analytic testing.
• Maintain a good working environment.

Required:

• Bachelor, Master or PhD in Organic Chemistry, medicinal chemistry or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience in medicinal or organic chemistry, a strong track record of productivity in these areas for Master and Ph.D
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Work authorization within the United States.
